Traded Speech and Language Therapy Services

Schools and settings can buy in additional speech and language therapy to that provided by the NHS from Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Partnership Trust (CWPT).

This could be for children who do not meet the specialist service thresholds, or to provide additional support for children who do.

Around 10% of all children have long term, persistent Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, like many NHS organisations, are commissioned to provide assessment and intervention to those with the most significant need. Additional Speech and Language Provision can be purchased for those with lower level needs.

 

Why Purchase Additional Health Care Provision?

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust provide specialist health services to meet a range of needs for children and young people. However there are great gains to be made for children and young people who have moderate and lower level Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Additional services can be bought by schools, nurseries and pre-school settings to enhance NHS provision and improve outcomes for children and young people.
