This 2 hour session will help you to understand what selective mutism is including the impact this may have on a child or young person. It will cover typical profiles that you may encounter and how to best support children who do not speak when they are in school.

Course objectives:

• To enable staff to understand what selective mutism is

• To enable staff to understand what interventions are available

• To enable staff to support children and young people with selective mutism
