Covid-19 (Corona Virus)

This is affecting us all at work and at home. We're working hard to keep services running and will focus our efforts on the most critical elements. In doing so disruption to many services is likely. We are contacting the families of children that are already known to us by telephone or video calls , so that we can check their progress and update any advice. High priority new referrals have continued to be contacted throughout the pandemic ( eg children with eating and drinking difficulties, Looked After Children and children with a new brain injury), other children have been added to the waiting list for when services can resume.

When initial assessment services resume, the first contact will be via telephone or video call, with only some children and families being asked to come to clinic. Please be aware that staff will be wearing PPE ( masks, gloves and aprons).

Social stories can be useful to prepare your child for their appointment and to help them to understand why the Speech and Language Therapist will be wearing a mask during their session. For social stories*, click here
